Is Computer Science Geeky?

Simply NO. Computer Science is not a specialized field filled with geeks, but rather intelligent individuals. This job profession is geared to certain individuals that find this type of work exciting and interesting. Anyone can say that anyone else is a geek. Being a geek is not defined by the job that you work. For instance, if you look at a nurse, you may say that they are a geek because they have to learn about the human body and how it operates. However, if you look at a scientist you may say that they are a geek because they know what reaction will occur if two liquids are combined. Being a geek should make someone proud. All it simply means is that a particular person knows a lot about a specific topic. Back in the day, hearing someone being called a "geek" brought to someones mind the picture of a person with big glasses, not fashionable outfit choices, and someone who does not have a lot of friends. Back then, being called a "geek" hurt people's feelings and it was an insult rather than a compliment. However, now-a-days being called a "geek" is a good thing and everyone has a little bit of geeky-ness in them. Being smart is brought to every profession and all the individuals must be smart in order to be a good employee and get their tasks done efficiently. So in conclusion, computer science is not a geeky field because this term can be brought to any job profession, and not just one particular one.
